This weekend brought a day trip to Manhattan – the ‘Little Apple’ of Kansas – with our good friends Daniel and Kelsey.
We went to Varsity Donuts where I had some of the best cake donuts I’ve ever laid mouth on.
We meandered through the Dusty Bookshelf to spy some good reads.
Radina’s Coffeehouse introduced me to the wonders of a handcrafted chai latte.
So Long Saloon blew my mind with their raspberry black bean chipotle dip.
There was dancing in the car to the Don Omar Pandora Station.
Good times were had all around.
It was definitely one for the memory books.
Here’s our trip through my lens.
Enjoy.

Hope your day is swell,

I love these photos! I want to live inside that little doughnut shop.
That makes two of us! Although, if I lived there, I would surely gain a solid 50 pounds in the first month. Yikes!
i double-taked six times on your first sentence: “dana… came here?!” ha. only in my dreams.
i would much rather be in your manhattan– donuts, books, chai, dana– than in mine!
i love this new photo thing!
Those donuts look amaaaaazing.
Oh my gosh! I must go to Varsity Donuts sometime in my life!
You are absolutely killing me! I’ve had the biggest hankering for cake donuts for weeks now. Think you could send some to London? KThanks.
Kara, if I could hand deliver you some to London, trust me I would. It’s been a lifelong dream to travel there! How fortunate you are to live in such a great city.
What kind of photo viewer is that? Love them all! Wishing I was your donut eating friend!
It’s just the wordpress slideshow plug in. Try it out!
What fun photos!
Looks soooo delicious! Beautiful picture!
Love the slideshow! Looks like a fabulous adventure!
mmmm! I want some of those onion rings! Question if you were either going to eat onion rings or french fries…what would be the more healthy choice? my guess would be neither…but what do you think?
Well, technically an onion is less starchy than a potato, so I’m guessing it might be slightly healthier, but not by much. You can have either one as long as you practice portion control :D That’s my opinion.
How came I can’t find the Black Bean and Raspberry recipe. Keeps bringing up the donut story. Thanks
